LIVE PAINTING PERFORMANCE TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL CHARITY
WHAT: Typically held on an invite-only basis, the public is encouraged to attend a gallery art opening at Frary Gallery in Sarasota for an Artist whose work has been procured by the likes of Elton John, Barbara Walters, and Ted Kennedy, to name a few.

An Artist Reception for Florida native, Ron Reams, will be held on Saturday, February 26th to be followed by a live painting demonstration on a 4′ x 6′ canvas on Sunday. The painting will be auctioned at the conclusion of Sunday’s event, proceeds to benefit the ALS Foundation*(a.k.a. Lou Gehrig’s disease).

If you want to catch a glimpse of the Artist’s work, mark your calendars now – the one-man show will be in town for one week only.

*Ron selected the ALS foundation in honor of his dear friend Jeffrey Rose who recently lost his battle with the disease. Darlene, Jeffrey’s wife will be flying in for the event to share her touching journey through this debilitating and degenerative disease and to help build awareness about ALS and the hope for a cure.

About the Artist:
Reams works from a highly intuitive source. He is currently exploring the energy of his art in a sculptural way, building layer upon layer and color upon color. This visceral interpretation aligns with Ream’s belief that a painting only momentarily pauses before transference occurs and it (the painting) resumes on another surface entirely. To quote Reams: “I paint form the deepest part of my core. I become the paint and the canvas, allowing the elements and the environment to shape itself in the moment of creation. If I think about the past or the end result, which would be the future, I’m not creating from my core. It’s all about the present if I’m to be true to my passion.” From the artist’s body to the artist’s body of work, Reams transcends the canvas into an actualization of his spirit, allowing evocation to take the reins of the brush.
